On Friday, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 50th goal for Al Nassr, helping his team defeat Al Ahli 1-0 and secure second place in the Saudi Pro League.
In the 68th minute, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner scored the game's lone goal from the penalty spot after VAR's intervention caused the referee to call a foul in Al Ahli's area.
In 58 games in the Saudi Pro League, Asian Champions League, King's Cup, Super Cup, and Arab Club Champions Cup, he has scored 50 goals. At the close of 2022, Ronaldo made his contentious departure from Manchester United to join Al Nassr.
The 39-year-old believed he had given Al Nassr the lead in the first half of the match on Friday, but the goal was disallowed for offside. After scoring a goal for Al Ahli, former Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino met the same end.
The victory put a stop to Al Nassr's dismal run of play, which saw them fall farther behind Al Hilal, the leaders of the Saudi Pro League, and lose to Al Ain on Monday to exit the Asian Champions League.
Despite having played one extra game, Al Nassr is nine points behind Al Hilal. Al Ahli are in third place, nine points behind.
