Rakesh Tiwari, the brother-in-law of Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi, passed away and his sister Sabita Tiwari was seriously hurt in a car accident in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on Saturday, according to authorities. The couple was traveling from the Gopalganj region of Bihar to West Bengal at the time of the event.
The actor's brother-in-law was "brought dead" at the Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad, where the couple was taken shortly after the tragedy. In response to the accident, his sister broke her leg, although she is not in danger, according to SNMMCH Emergency HOD Dr. Dinesh Kumar Gindauria, as reported by PTI.
Officials claim that when the vehicle lost control and struck a road divider, Tiwari was behind the wheel.
